Our Carers
We are very proud of our dedicated, highly trained, highly qualified nursery carers and staff within the Nursery. All members of our carers and staff are kept up-to-date with current issues, through attending relevant and up-to-date training courses.
All qualifications and certificates are displayed for your information within the setting. Within the nursery we also encourage students to complete their placements with us, training varies from school work-experience to NVQ’s and NNEB training.
Our qualified Carers and Staff are dedicated to the care of your little ones, and have been hand-picked as much for their quality of commitment as for their qualifications. We extended an open invitation for parents to join us and see for yourself the level of loving care and attention Overleigh Private Day Nursery has to offer.
The Staff and parent partnership
To ensure that you are kept fully informed of your child’s progress and daily activities you will have a member of staff assigned to your child called a key worker. This person will be someone whom you and your child can easily relate to, ensuring your child’s happiness and welfare, giving them love, security, comfort and ample opportunity to develop and learn.
We regularly complete a development file for each child and throughout the year we will arrange a parent meeting with you to share your child’s progress and to update you on any changes within our area. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions, find out information and voice any concerns.
Security
Security is of the utmost importance to Our Nursery and Parents alike. All staff are vetted through police checks before being employed. The entire premise has CCTV camera systems in operation. All doors have coded locks to protect children from harm and to prevent them from leaving the site. We are also linked to the Cheshire Police and smoke alarms are fitted throughout the whole building, which are linked to the Fire Control Centre.
As part of our security, when dropping your child off and collecting them we provide a signing in/out book. It is extremely important that you SIGN YOUR CHILD IN AND OUT as these are valuable records in the event of a fire.
We also ask that parents take care to ensure that they always CLOSE DOORS behind them and NEVER let anybody into the nursery that they do not know. Leaving doors OPEN and letting STRANGERS in are obvious safety RISKS, so we ask you to take great care when entering and leaving the building.
Staffing and Employment Policy
A high adult child ratio is essential in providing good quality care, in our Nursery:
We have at least one member of staff to the following child ratios;
o – 2 year olds one member of staff to every three children
2 – 3 year olds one member of staff to every four children
3 – 5 year olds one member of staff to every eight children.
Our keyworker system ensures each child and family has one Particular staff member who takes a special interest in them.
Regular staff meetings provide opportunities for staff to undertake Curriculum planning and to discuss the children's progress and any difficulties.
We work towards an equal opportunities employment policy, seeking to offer job opportunities equally to both women and men, with and without disabilities, from all religious, social, ethnic and cultural groups.
All our staff will hold the relevant qualifications, Which will consist of - N N E B, N V Q 3 N V Q 2 , CACHE Diploma in Nursery, Nursing, BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
