Our aim at Overleigh Out of School Club is to create a home from home atmosphere for older children out of normal school hours. At the same time we aim to provide children with a safe and stimulating environment that will nurture their every need, love, care, attention, happiness and security.

Children can spend time with old friends and meet new ones, which is all part of building confidence and developing self-esteem. Children can relax or let off steam after a busy day at school, having freedom of choice to decide for themselves.

During their time with us, the children will have the option of organised activities to improve their learning through informal play and recreation. Alternatively children will be free to choose their own free play activities which include "The Amazon Play Experience".

"The Amazon Play Experience" is our indoor play area that includes: tubes, slides, ball pools, and a spooky house with electronic sound effects. There is also an outdoor play are, where group or individual games are encouraged. What ever your child decides – you can be assured that our staff will ensure they have FUN!

The Rooms
Here at Overleigh the children are divided into two groups, the 4-7’s and the 8-12’s (subject to sufficient numbers)

The 4-7’s Room
This room is a room especially for the 4-7 age group. It aims to be a little less daunting for younger children and aims to provide a secure environment away from the older children. In this room our staff will be happy to play, read a story or just sit and listen.

This room also has large sofas, a TV and video, music system, board games as well as books and puzzles. There is also a work bench, dressing up box and an abundance of art and craft materials. For the youngest of our children we also have. lego, knex, construction toys, cars, a garage, a dolls house, a farm, and a train set.

The 8-12’s Room
This is a room especially for the 8 – 12 age group. In here the older children may be as active or as inactive as they please. The room is equipped with a snooker/pool table, ping – pong, bar football, karaoke, air-hockey, games and a seated area for chit-chat.

The Homework Room
This room is to encourage the children to complete their homework, in a quiet environment, and upon their own initiative. Staff will be available to assist those children who request help.

The Sensory Room
This room is where children can relax and chill out at anytime. Soft and cosy with lots of lights, sounds and different smells to stimulate your mind and let your imagination take you anywhere. This room is also ideal for children who have special needs.

The Computer and games room
This room is used for other activities, games and research. It is also equipped with a Play Station, a Nintendo and a PC's. Children are supervised in this area and are encouraged to take turns and share.

The Craft room
This room is for children to explore their creative skills through art & craft. Each month the room has a different theme, such as "Jungle", "Space", "Africa" or other topics. In this room children are encouraged to "create" in line with the monthly topic. This room is also home to our messy crafts such as painting, junk modelling, sand, water and clay dough.

Disabled facilities
The out of School club is fully equipped with a lift and disabled changing and toilet facilities.

School collections
These take place from 13 schools around the Chester area. Schools are provided with all the necessary information about Overleigh and details of the member of staff responsible for collecting your child. All escort staff carry either a pager or mobile phone in case of emergencies.

We encourage parents to bring children into the Out of School Club prior to their first collection. This allows the club to introduce the member of staff to your child. and this provides assurance for the child that they are being collected and kept safe, prior to parental collection. After arriving back at the club, children are free to choose a light tea snack which consists of assorted sandwiches, toast, cake, biscuits, crisps, fresh fruit and a drink. They are then free to take advantage of the many activities we have to offer.

During the holidays - meals
During the holidays children are provided with breakfast, snacks, midday two course lunch and high tea. Drinks are unlimited and available at all times. Children are offered an interesting combination of protein, fresh vegetables, and fruit. Vegetarians and special diets can be catered for upon request. (all midday Hot meals are not necessarily included in the fees – please check sessions).

Booking Conditions & Payment of fees
To enrol your child in either the out of school club or the holiday club please complete our Nursery Contract and return it to us with a £30 non refundable registration fee. Please read this carefully as it constitutes a legal binding contract between yourselves and the nursery. Fees are due and payable ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE and you are required to provide the nursery with ONE MONTHS NOTICE to change or terminate your contract with us.

For the out of school club fees are charged for 38 weeks term time. Please Note we do not refund any fees. Payments may be made by cash, cheque, debit card or standing order. (payments made by Visa or MasterCard incur additional charges at 2.6% or 2.9% of the account total) Accounts paid late will incur a 5% surcharge.
